Once again this year, our program provides a comprehensive view of current contemporary art. For the third time, we realize a focus on a specific country: after Brazil and China, this year we look at art from India.
We are pleased that we were able to work with India connoisseur Birgid Uccia, film specialist Matthias Brunner and artist Christoph Steinmeyer as curators of our exhibitions. Matthias Brunner has additionally curated an India-specific film program and presents, among other things, an exquisite selection of the best Indian movies from the last five decades. Christoph Steinmeyer’s exhibition shows parts of ”The Bilderberg Collection“ to the public for the first time and Birgid Uccia brought well-known representatives and promising newcomers of the Indian art scene to us at the Engadin. Together with our curator Charlotte Desaga, this team of internationally renowned curators has now focused even more on the mediation and on the conceptual aspects of each individual exhibition. Our collaboration with international art collections such as the Burger Collection, which has a focus in contemporary Indian art, or the Stellar International Art Foundation, which allows us a glimpse into the classic modern India, also gives us the opportunity to perceive the large spectrum of contemporary art and culture.
